Smokey sees traditionally prepared performer Burtrand Reynolds exposition the job of the Desperado, a legendary, practically Quixotesque figure, who cuts across the American scene in a dark Pontiac firebird, a definitive phallic portrayal of male strength. The thickly layered plot sees Desperado become engaged with a mission of Arthurian extents, endeavoring to do “what they say isn’t possible”. As it goes, there’s a dry spell in old Atlanta, and the fine townsfolk are choking for some fluid reward for the impending beast truck derby.
